RRC Team Member Carrying the Olympic Torch

We are delighted to announce that one of our apprentices (Robert Thomas) has been selected to carry the Olympic Torch on the 30th May on its tour of the country.

"It's a huge honour to be one of the torch bearers" said Robert whose participation comes courtesy of Samsung, "Two years ago I'd never have imagined doing something like this - it just shows how far I've gone in my career".

Robert - A RRC Apprentice

Robert is one of four apprentices at RRC and has been trained to install and repair both domestic and commercial digital television systems and audio equipment. As well as learning on the job, he has also undertaken an NVQ Level 2 in Electrical and Electronics Servicing and Birmingham Metropolitan College's Samsung Digital Service Academy.

Once his NVQ is completed, Robert plans to continue his training with a City and Guilds 7575 Digital Home Technology Integrator programme to further enhance his knowledge and understanding of modern digital electronic techniques in the domestic domain.

Our MD Steve Farnsworth says that "Apprenctices are breathing new life into the digital industry. Robert is one of four apprentices who have worked closely with our digital technicians before going out in the field on their own."

The demand for major engineering and manufacturing network servicing means we'll be looking to recruit a new cohort of apprentices later in the year. Not only are we aiming to grow as an organisation, we are also keen to continue to provide training and development to our workforce so that we can make the most of the opportunities available in the industry."
